Insulin Resistance / Diabetes

In the US, current predictions are that one in three children born today, will have type II diabetes mellitus. In the UK too, the issue is becoming of greater concern with modern high sugar diets and stressful lifestyles. Indeed, with the rate of new cases increasing so dramatically in the UK over the last ten years, the Royal College of Physicians have now introduced the term Syndrome X to cover all pre-diabetic symptoms.

Syndrome X Symptoms include:

Tiredness (swing from high energy to low energy very quickly)
Thirsty regularly
Weight Gain (especially abdominal weight gain)
Regular infections (especially eye)
Increased inflammation in the body
High blood pressure
Reduced tolerance to stress (Feel stressed all the time)

If you are experiencing any of these symptoms it is so important for you to come and see us at Mythbreaker or another health professional, because with dietary change, the symptoms of Syndrome X (reduced insulin sensitivity) may be reversible and can certainly minimise the risk of becoming Diabetic.

Diabetes has been linked to:

Cardio Vascular Disease
High Blood Pressure
Blindness
Cancer
Obesity
